The Alleluia Fellowship is a
group of Deaf People from many different church backgrounds. We do
not focus on our differences but on those things that bring us
together as people of God. Our purpose is to worship, pray and be
together as people of God and not as any one denomination. Thus we
have Catholic and Mormon and Baptist and Lutheran and many who have
no formal church affiliation.
We are supported by St. Hilda's Episcopal Church and thank the Parish of St. Hilda's for their generous hospitality.

Silent Auction. If you would like to buy a ticket for the dinner, host or

Dinner menu includes Herb Roasted Chicken Breast Dinner or Cheese Tortellini
Buffet dinner will be served at 5:00PM.
Tickets will be $20.00 each. The Silent Auction will start at 4:30PM.
Beloved ASL Studies founding chair, Debi Duren, will be returning to Oregon for
this special event. She will be the guest presenter at the evening event and she
will be giving a workshop during the day. More details will be provided.
Dear Friends/Colleagues,
I am writing to ask for your assistance in setting up a scholarship fund in
memory of Di Finklein. She was a wonderful person. I graduated from Western
Oregon State College with Di in 1996. We were both ASL/English Interpreting
majors. Some of you may not know Di, but we had a lot of fun while we were
attending college. We worked together in our Mock Interpreting class during our
senior year at Western. Di passed away suddenly in January of 2001. She was
working towards a College Student Services Administration Program Masters Degree
at Oregon State University.
I have set up a Di Finklein Memorial Scholarship at Western Oregon University.
This scholarship will be available to a student at Western Oregon University
majoring in ASL/English Interpreting.
Di’s mom says it best, “No finer human being ever walked the face of this earth
nor managed to touch lives more exquisitely than our Diva Di. She wasn’t perfect
but she never claimed to be either. She grew instantly impatient when she saw
wrong and never turned away from an opportunity to stretch her belief system.”
“Each of us is on loan to this earth. We have a set amount of time in which to
leave our mark. Di’s allotment comprised 26 years, 111 days and 47 minutes. She
crammed enormous amounts of living & loving into every single parcel of her
existence. If success is determined by those who remember you or who are changed
because you were a piece of their life, Dianne Finklein defined the word.”
I am writing to ask for your donation to benefit other students, just like Di,
at Western Oregon University. Checks can be made out to “WOU Foundation”. Make
sure to indicate that the donation is for the Di Finklein Memorial Scholarship
Endowment fund. You will receive a confirmation from the foundation within 2
business days of your donation.
On May 22, 2010 I will be hosting a benefit dinner and Silent Auction. If you
would like to buy a ticket for the dinner, host or sponsor a table please
contact me at the number below. Herb Roasted Chicken Breast Dinner or Cheese
Tortellini Buffet dinner will be served at 5:00PM. Tickets will be $20.00 each.
The Silent Auction will start at 4:30PM. Debi Duren will be returning to Oregon
for this special event. She will be the guest presenter at the evening event and
she will be giving a workshop during the day. More details will be provided.
